BÀI HỌC 24B: SHADOW TECHNIQUES - TASK 1 TO 10 ( short clips - female voice)

TASK 1:

One of the things we are seeing quite strongly in data is how effective vaccines actually are. In terms of reducing hospitalizations and reducing deaths, but we have to reach the people who need them most. And so it's not just about how much vaccine coverage there is, it's about who is being vaccinated. It’s not even just about who is vaccinated, it’s about who isn’t.

What are the populations that are missing the critical need for vaccination? People who are underlying conditions, people who are over the age of 60, our frontline workers, and in far too many countries, those vaccines are not reaching those individuals.

We are seeing across Europe, across the world, transmission is increasing. Transmission is driven by many factors right now, the variant, increases in social mixing which began months ago. The patterns that we are seeing across Europe, the patterns we are seeing across the world are entirely predictable. Because when you lift Public Health and Social measures, when you lift the rules around masking and distancing and improving ventilation, avoiding crowds in the context of variants, in the contexts of increasing Social mixing, in the context of limited vaccination, you're going to see the virus thrives and that's exactly what is happening right now.

In the Northern Hemisphere, we are entering the winter months, people will spend more time indoors. What we are saying to all the countries right now is to look at your situation, critically assess the situation that you are in right now and make adjustments. Use the tools that you have, whatever tools you have right now, improving your surveillance, appropriate testing, linked to public Health action, getting that vaccine out but also Physical distancing, wearing of a well-fitting mask, avoiding crowds. All of this will drive the transmission down as we get vaccination coverage up.

The deaths that are happening right now are just absolutely tragic because they can be prevented because we have tools. So we need to look at what is happening right now in every country around the world and make some course corrections, using the tools and capacities at hand while, at the same time, fighting as hard as we can for vaccine equity to get those vaccines into the arms of the individuals around the world.

TASK 2: 5 FACTORS DRIVING COVID-19 TRANSMISSION.

https://fb.watch/8P7l8eCKez/

The Delta Variant

One is the Delta variant with increased transmissibility, which will result in an increased number of hospitalizations. That could put a burden on the Healthcare System and that can result in increased numbers of people dying.

Vaccine Inequity

Much of the world remains unvaccinated because we do not have equitable distribution of vaccines worldwide and we have not vaccinated those most at risk; People with underlying conditions, people of advanced age. And unfortunately, people are dying because they don't have access to the vaccine.

Social Mixing

The third condition is that we have increased social mixing and social mobility. The more contacts you have means the more potential exposure you can have to this virus.

Inconsistency

And the fourth factor is the inconsistent use of public health and social measures, mask-wearing, hand hygiene, physical distancing, good ventilation.

misinformation

The amount of misinformation that’s out there seems to be getting worse. And I think that’s really confusing for the general public “What do I do?” “How do I keep myself safe?”. And I fear that this is another fifth element that we have now. Fifth factor that is allowing the virus to thrive.

TASK 3: NETFLIX BLACK LEAD

https://fb.watch/9EltWQG1mp/

Hey, Queen.

Girls, you have done it again. Constantly raising the bar for all of us and doing it flawlessly.

Look at you never backing down from a fight, and even when you get knocked down, you always find a way to get back up. You're constantly evolving and I am so proud of you.

People will tell you there are things you can't do but you won't let those stop you.

And that determination, that grit, that will take you really really far.

I used to be scared too when I was made to feel small. Stand in your power. You’re light and your radiance is the gift. Remember the universe is on your side. Keep on reaching for your goals and perfecting your craft. I see you and never forget that you are loved.

And remember that you are 100% that Queen

TASK 4:

I did everything in my power to be a good student. I dreamed of one day going to one of the best universities in America. But despite my efforts, there were still people in my life who told me that I was setting my sights too high and that a girl like me couldn't get into an elite University. It was like these folks were trying to put me in a little box. A box that fit their constrained expectations of me.

And after a while, I started to wonder maybe I

was dreaming too big. What if these folks were right?

See back then I didn't know what my future held. I didn't know that I'd be accepted to a top university. I didn't know that I'd go on to get a law degree and become an NGO director

(Non- Governmental Organization) and a hospital executive and eventually First Lady of the United States. Those kinds of achievements seemed totally out of reach when I was your age.

You all have everything you need rise above all the noise and fulfill every last one of

your dreams and it is so important that you do that not just for yourselves but for all of us.“

TASK 5:

My son was attacked even though he's the second generation. He was attacked and he was called a Paki. Now you tell me, how does a person take a Paki? What do we say? Is that a name Paki? what is it?

I'm not a Paki, he's not a Paki. We're human beings that are being labeled. Why do we have labels? I'm from a Sikh faith. Many of you are from Muslim faiths as well but we are faiths and we haven't got a label "Paki".

And my son said "Mom, what do I do? I work for security, do I walk around and say no I'm not a Paki, I'm Sikh?

I said "No, son. You are a human being and the other thing, white supremacy, that's how we feel.

I was born in this country. My father served in this country but it is white Supremacy that is dividing everybody.

I don't like being called a "wog" ( a dark skinned person). I'm a human being. I went to school, I used to be called Curryface. Is that a name? That's disgraceful, I don't like it.

We have to abolish all this race hate, color hate.

You and I, everyone here has the same amount of bones, same amount of blood. You take my skin off and we're exactly the same. Where has racism come from?

Task 6:

I found myself at the age of , just feeling like a complete failure. We all hit that moment in life where things just are not going how you thought they would go. The alarm would go off at 6 in the morning and I would lie there and I would think about how much we had fought the night before, and I would think about a fact that I was unemployed and I would hit the snooze button.

All day long the tiny decisions that take you so far off track, staying at a job that you hate is a decision, staying with a somebody that treats you like garbage is a decision. And in order to change, you have about 5 Second window in which you can move from idea to action before your brain kicks into full gear and sabotages any change in behavior.

The next morning, the alarm goes off and I count it out loud and then I stood up. And for the first time in three months, I had beaten my habit of hitting the snooze button. You can outsmart your own brain. They are tricks that you can use that actually really outsmart the tricks your brain plays on you in futherance of higher purpose. And then I started to notice something really interesting. There were moments all day long, and if I didn't move within 5 Seconds, my brain was step in and talked me out of it.

We all know what to do. None of us know how to make ourselves do it.  You're going to have to do things that are difficult, uncertain or scary. The truth is that you're never going to feel ready to make these changes. It's your job to push yourself. Change comes down to 5-second decisions. This is why the five-second rules is important for everybody. Because I went from getting up on time and waking up on time to shaking up my entire life.

The fact about human beings is our minds are designed to you at all cost from doing anything that might hurt you. But you can always make a decision. That's always in your control. Every human being has a 5-second window, it might even be shorter.

Everything comes down to the decisions that you make, and if you change your decisions, you will change everything. Your life comes down to your decisions because when you understand the power of 5-second decisions, and you understand that you always have a charce to go from autopilot to decision maker, everything in your life will change.
